Syracuse vs. Washington, 7pmFour seasons ago, Jake Locker made his collegiate debut in Washington’s 2007 season opener on the road at Syracuse. Locker was 14-19 in the air for 152 yards. He was also ran the ball 10 times for 84 yards and two touchdowns.
The Huskies steamrolled the Orange, 42-12, and Locker’s career was born.
Locker has come a long way since then, establishing himself as an elite college quarterback with pinpoint accuracy, and as a threat to use his feet to keep plays alive.
The latter will be important against Syracuse on Saturday as the Orange will surely bring the rush early and often.
The biggest matchup this weekend, however, will be Locker against the SU secondary. ‘Cuse did well against Akron’s Patrick Nicely last week, but they’ll see a whole new beast this weekend with Locker in the backfield.
