6 Texas (2-0) vs. Texas Tech (2-0), 8:00 PM, ABCThis intrastate matchup has turned into one of the most appealing rivalries in college football. It seems every time these two teams meet, it’s a shootout; most notably in 2008 when Michael Crabtree’s last second touchdown catch derailed Texas’ BCS title hopes. The Longhorns are 3-3 under Mack Brown when traveling to Texas Tech, and all three losses have cost Texas a chance at the title, so they will be looking to overcome that hump Saturday night. But the Texas Tech Red Raiders will look to derail Texas once again and put their own title hopes on track, getting off to a good start in the Big 12.
Prediction: This rivalry will live up to the hype, and it will be another barn-burner. Both have solid offenses that can put up points, but look for the Longhorns to pull out a nail biting upset and send the Red Raiders’ fans home unhappy.
