Texas Rangers vs. San Francisco Giants, 7:57pm, FOX Cliff Lee vs. Tim Lincecum.
This is the best postseason pitching matchup since…Roy Halladay vs. Tim Lincecum. So over/under 20 strikeouts total this game? EP is inclined to take the over.
The Rangers have the better offense, but how much it will matter if Big Time Timmy Jim is at his best. Plus, Cliff Lee is in fact human and may begin to tire out eventually (which in his case probably means 2 runs over 7 innings).
Like most of this series, Game 1 will be a pitcher’s duel.
Prediction: EP gives the edge to the Giants simply because they’re at home and San Francisco’s had a great playoff atmosphere this October. Also, if the Giants can get Lincecum the lead, Brian "Blackbeard" Wilson should be on in the ninth. Beware of "Blackbeard."
