US striker Charlie Davies broke his tibia and femur in his right leg, suffered facial fractures, fractured his left elbow, and lacerated his bladder in a fatal accident October 13, 2009. Davies, the passenger, survived the early morning crash that killed driver Ashley Roberta.
With his substantial injuries and rehab program, Davies missed the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. After a 10-day tryout with DC United of MLS, Davies announced his return to professional soccer today.
