8 UNLV vs 9 Illinois, 9:20 PM ET, TBS
This game will mark Illinois’ 29th appearance in the NCAA Tournament, which ranks 11th among NCAA schools. The Fighting Illini have been on a downhill spiral lately though, losing five of their last eight games. But with Preseason Wooden Award Candidate, Demetri McCamey on it’s side, Illinois will look to upset (albeit minor) UNLV tonight.

Player to Watch: Demetri McCamey, G, Illinois
A Preseason Wooden Award candidate, McCamey is averaging just under 15 points a game for the Illini. He was also named Third-Team All-Big Ten leading Illinois to a 4th place finish in the Big Ten at 9-9. With 4 years of experience and it being his last tournament, you can be sure McCamey will do everything he can to finish his career with a bang.
In my bracket: Illinois
It could go either way in this game as both teams are pretty evenly matched. Illinois has been struggling as of late, but with experience on it’s side with seniors Demetri McCamey, Mike Davis and Mike Tisdale, Illinois should pull out the victory.
