Playoff appearances come naturally for the Los Angeles Lakers. Few professional sports franchises can compare with the Lakers' legacy of postseason success. This spring, the Lakers will make their 58th appearance in the NBA Playoffs. The purple and gold have missed the postseason only five times during their 63 year history and only once (2004-05) since the team traded for the draft rights to Kobe Bryant.
