Andrew Luck to the Colts?

With the Colts struggling and Andrew Luck flourishing, the next stop for the Stanford Cardinals quarterback may be Indianapolis.  By Kristina Callahan

     The Indianapolis Colts are still looking for a win. With Peyton Manning sidelined with a neck injury and back up Kerry Collins out with a concussion, the Colts are relying on their third backup. There has already been talk about Stanford quarterback and last year’s Heisman runner up, Andrew Luck, being a lock for that number 1 spot in the NFL draft. The Colts may need him sooner rather than later.
     His coaches and teammates have always raved about his athleticism. In the first quarter of Stanford’s 45-19 win over UCLA, Luck was on both the distributing and receiving end. Luck threw the football to Tyler Gaffney who then flipped it to wide receiver Drew Terrell on a reverse. Terrell then elevated a pass down the right sideline to… Luck? His athleticism was on display when he was completely outstretched and grabbed the ball with one hand all while dragging his left foot to make sure he was inbounds.
     Stanford Coach, David Shaw, boasted, “Luck can play about five positions but will probably just remain at quarterback.”
     With the Cardinal’s win over UCLA last week, they remain undefeated at 4-0. Luck is looking more and more like an NFL quarterback. Some analysts have even gone as far as to compare him to Peyton Manning.
     What better way to find out how he compares to Peyton Manning than have them compete for playing time next season? Only time will tell.
