Big Ten Exhibition Success

Three Big Ten exhibition games took place on Saturday, Nov. 5, and all three Big Ten teams came out on top.

Indiana- 90 vs. Indianapolis- 72

Penn State- 64 vs. Slippery Rock- 47

Wisconsin- 80 vs. UW-Stevens Point- 54

All of the competing Big Ten teams steamrolled over the competition. No. 15 Wisconsin especially had a great game. RS Junior, Ryan Evans came into his own on Saturday with 16 points and five rebounds. “A self-described late-bloomer,” Evans has played in every career game with the Badgers. With two seasons of play under his belt, Evans will be a valuable asset for the Badgers if he can continue to make significant contributions.

Senior guard and Preseason All-American, Jordan Taylor showed great leadership on the court. He supported the Badgers by contributing eight points and seven assists, “Jordan wasn’t looking to do anything tonight other than run the show,” said coach Bo Ryan. “The shots were there, and that was a great job of orchestrating the offense.” Taylor has the skill and leadership to propel the Badgers into postseason play later in the season.

It is safe to say that the Badgers dominated in their exhibition game. The team shot 50% from the 3-point range, complimented with an impressive 19 assists and only five turnovers. “We’re Wisconsin,” Ryan said, “We don’t accept anything else.” The Badgers expect continued success throughout the season. Wisconsin opens their season at home vs. Kennesaw State on Saturday, Nov. 12.
