Go, Giroux, Go

Weeks ago, it was reported that the Philadelphia Flyers forward Claude Giroux was in a slump. He wasn’t playing to the standards in which the front office and the harsh Philadelphia fans had expected.

It seems that of recently that funk has turned around. Giroux is the team leader in goals and points, and has helped to propel his squad to the top of the standings in the Atlantic Division.

Sitting at a 11-4-3 with 25 points, the Flyers sit above the Penguins, Rangers, Devils and Islanders, respectively. Giroux, the twenty-eight year old Canadian is tied for second in the league with points. In eighteen games, the Magic-Man has eleven goals and twelve assists. Above him is only Toronto’s Phil Kessel with twenty-five points.

With the roll that the Flyers have been on, they can truly be a force throughout the NHL come playoff time. The season is young, and the Atlantic is a tough division. If Giroux can battle through adversity, especially with the help of veteran Jaromir Jagr, anything is possible for the Broad Street Bullies.
