College basketball season for most universities kicks off this weekend! Will the top ranked North Carolina Tar Heels live up to their pre-season ranking? Can Jimmer-less BYU prove they deserve to be ranked?

Tiger Woods. No this is good news! Tiger finds himself leading the Australian Open heading into the weekend. He shot 5-under-par 67 in the 2nd round. Will the final 36 holes end with a Tiger victory?

The Scandal Lions? After a week of reckless rioting and firing, Penn State still has a football game to play. Despite the sad departure of Head Coach Joe Paterno, PSU still takes on #19 Nebraska. Many of the players have said they’re going to play for JoePa.

The Chase for the Cup. NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series takes place in Phoenix, Arizona. The Kobalt Tools 500 will highlight points’ leader Tony Stewart, who holds a very short leash on Carl Edwards, who only trails Stewart by 3.

72 Games? Better than nothing. David Stern’s latest proposal to end the NBA lockout is a 72 game season that would begin on December 15th. It’s up to the players to take the 50-50 split. Will a decision come this weekend?

Are the Bengals for real? 6 – 2 Cincinnati hosts their division rivals the Pittsburgh Steelers (6 – 3). With a tight race for 1st place in the AFC North, this game may determine playoff implications.

Is this really a question? The 49ers and their terrific 7 – 1 start still leave people with the idea that they aren’t relevant in the NFC playoff picture. They do play in a weak division, but they’ll be tested Sunday by the G-Men and Eli Manning, who are coming off a big win at New England.

Battle for…2nd place. With the Packers running off to what looks to be a possible undefeated season, the Bears and Lions are competing for NFC wild card spots. Chicago hosts Detroit, and with a win, the Bears are tied with the Lions and make the playoff race that more interesting.

Here we go again. Sexy Rexy and the Jets host the “over”, “done”, and “falling” New England Patriots Sunday night. The Pats have dropped 2 straight, and the Jets have won their last 3. The AFC East has three 5 – 3 teams, which means this game is a must-see.
