A Big Week for the Big Ten

Two big games for Big Ten teams took place over the weekend, here's what happened.

This was a big week for the Big Ten.  Ohio State came out on top Saturday, after defeating the Wisconsin Badgers in a close match of 58-52.  The Ohio State Buckeyes finally ended their nine game losing streak, claiming their first place spot in the Big Ten conference.  Sophomore forward Jared Sullinger had an amazing 24 points and 10 rebounds.  Senior guard William Buford had a huge 3-pointer toward the end of the game, securing the Buckeyes’ win.  “It was kind of big because no one ever won here,” said Buford, “This is my last time coming here.  Of course, I wanted to get the win.”  The Buckeyes play Purdue February 8 at 9:00 p.m.

Another big game took place this weekend: the Michigan vs. Michigan State game.  Michigan State senior forward, Draymond Green, led the Spartans to a 64-54 win, earning Michigan State 3rd place over the Wolverines in the Big Ten conference.  Green’s previous injury did not hinder him in the slightest as he led his team to victory.  He had 14 points, 16 rebounds, and four assists against the Wolverines.  This is a huge win for the Spartans and if they can keep their momentum going they will be soaring to new heights.  The Spartans play in East Lansing vs. Penn State at 6:30 on February 16.
