ESPN’s College “GameDay” traveled to Ann Arbor, Michigan for the Michigan vs. Ohio State rivalry game this past Saturday. The Wolverines and the Buckeyes put on a great show, with Michigan coming out on top and beating the Buckeyes 56-51.

“It didn’t just feel like a rivalry game,” said Michigan coach John Beilein, “this felt like we were playing for the Big Ten championship.”

The Wolverines came and played to win, completely shutting down Ohio State superstar forward, Jared Sullinger. “He’s a great player, and we knew it was going to be tough to stop him,” said Michigan forward Jordan Morgan. The Wolverines held Sullinger to 14 points, while teammate Deshaun Thomas stepped up with a double-double, scoring 25 points with 13 rebounds.

Morgan played great defense against Sullinger and played a well-rounded game with 11 points and 11 rebounds. The Wolverines have another weapon in their arsenal, freshman guard Trey Burke. Burke and Sullinger played on the same team in high school, so despite his lack of college experience, he knew how to handle Sullinger. Burke scored 17 points.  He also secured the win in the last 11 seconds, scoring a 3 pointer, bringing the score to a secure 56-51.

Michigan and Ohio State are now tied for second place in the Big Ten conference.
