Consistency is key and the Rangers are opening the lock.

At the end of the fall semester, the New York Rangers had caught fire. In the midst of Super Bowl madness, the greatness of the Broadway Blueshirts has slipped off to the side. Eli Manning is featured on the back page of The Post, not the high-scoring Marian Gaborik.
With forty-one points on the season, Gaborik has emerged as a prolific scorer for the high-flying offense. Channeling his inner Greg Jennings, Gabby has done his best to “put da team on his back”. Scoring twenty-five goals in forty-nine games played, his numbers are not on pace to break records, but his consistency is a key to success.
Defensively, goalie Henrik Lundqvist leads the league with an astonishing .939% save percentage. He also leads the league with six shutouts. Hank has been a key piece of the puzzle to keep the Rangers three points above the Philadelphia Flyers in the division.
With consistent play from the offense and goalie, the Rangers are posed to be a significant threat come playoff time. Yes, teams can go cold, but this momentum has been building over the course of the season. Look for the Rangers to sustain their lead in the Atlantic, and remain a contender for the entire Eastern Conference title.
