It is a big week for the Michigan State Spartans. Senior forward Draymond Green solidified his spot as a star in college basketball by reaching his 1000th rebound on Saturday with the Spartans’ defeat over the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Michigan State defeated Nebraska 62-34. Green played a fantastic game, scoring 20 points and racking up 10 rebounds to get him to the 1000 career milestone. Green joins his fellow Spartans with 1,000 rebounds including Greg Kelser, Johnny Green, and Antonio Smith. The hometown crowd gave Green a well-deserved standing ovation.

To add to the Spartans’ excitement, Michigan State clinched at least a share of the Big Ten title through Ohio State’s loss to Wisconsin on Sunday. “We’re excited and proud of what’s been accomplished so far,” said Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo, “but it’s minuscule compared to what we have a chance to accomplish down the road.”

The Spartans are 13-3 in the conference. Their next game is against Indiana on Tuesday.
