A season that looked so promising in September has flown away
from the Cardinals throughout their eight game losing streak. The Cardinals
season is like an ice cream sundae that looks so tasty in the beginning, but
then melts all over you by the time you’re not even half way done. The cherry
on top of it all is definitely this week’s 7-6 loss to the New York Jets. As
much as the Jets are struggling this season, the Cardinals were clearly
struggling more on Sunday...which, to be honest, is very hard to do.

Coach Ken Whisenhunt has juggled three quarterbacks in this
circus-like season for the Cards. Once Kevin Kolb was knocked out due to rib
injury, the rest of the hope for the Cardinal team fell with him. The Cardinals
have not seen a victory since September 30th! That day, no one had
even started their Christmas shopping. This weekend, almost everything is
crossed off the holiday wish list. But where is the Cardinals’ gift this
season? Neither John Skelton nor Ryan Lindley has been able to get into the
zone. And by that, I mean the end zone.
For those who had better things to do on Sunday than watch
this game, you didn’t miss much. One hundred and thirty seven total yards for
the Cards, with just seventy-two from their quarterback. Sounds like a college
game to me…but wait Ryan Nassib throws for more than that. Oh and another
thing- zero touchdowns. Arizona may as well have been playing soccer; Jay
Feely, the field goal kicker, was the only one to put up points on the score
board.
"A lot of things went wrong that could have been done better,”
Ryan Lindley told ESPN after the loss, “You have to pick up and move on."
It only took one touchdown by the New York back up
quarterback, Grey McElroy, for the battered Jets to get past the Cardinals.
While New York breathed a sigh of relief, the Cards head back to the drawing
board for the eight time in a row.
