California (2-1) vs. 14 Arizona (3-0), 10pm Both programs look to make a strong message to the rest of the conference in this Pac-10 season opener. The Wildcats are off to a 3-0 start, the best start to the season since 2001 – despite the great start, the Wildcats lost five in a row and were not bowl eligible. In a high profile home game against 9 Iowa last week, the Wildcats relied on junior QB Nick Foles to lead the way. He threw for 303 yards against the Hawkeye’s defense and found WR William Wright for the game winning score with just under four minutes remaining. The Golden Bears are a mystery in themselves. After scoring 52 points in the first two games of the season, Cal gave up 52 points on the road against Nevada.
Prediction: The offensive power is clearly there for the Golden Bears, but the defense will be no match for Foles. The junior torches the Golden Bears and the Wildcats continue their rise. ‘Zona wins.
