1) His wife/fianceé/girlfriend/girl he likes but will never talk to/all other relationships that have been missed and/or cannot be discussed on this website thinks that he looks cute/hot/sexy/variation of one of those words in it.

2) He's a fan of a team that has purple as a primary color. Thus, supporters of the Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Kings, Colorado Avalanche, Milwaukee Bucks, Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Lakers, Sacramento Kings, Utah Jazz, Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks and every other team wearing purple, professional or otherwise.
3) Said man is representing a charity.
Which is why today, February 8th, everyone, male or female, should wear purple.
It's for a teenage girl named Daron Richardson. She's the daughter of one Luke Richardson, a nasty, physical defenseman who carved out a 21-year NHL career. But his daughter, according to a CBC interview was the opposite of him, an artist who could sing so well that she moved him to tears.

Unfortunately, the word "was" is actually the correct tense. Daron took her own life on November 13th, according to news reports from ESPN. She left behind her father, as well as her mother, Stephanie and her older sister, Morgan.
Since the time, both the Ottawa and hockey community have attempted to raise awareness of mental health issues in teenagers. Tomorrow is the first of what will hopefully be many "Do it for Daron Purple Pledge Day." The day calls for people across Canada and the hockey community to wear purple and donate money in support of relieving the stigma's that surround mental illness.

In honor of this, at least one member of the EP Sports Team will be wearing purple today in honor of Daron.
