Braedan Ritter tells us what we would have missed with a lost NBA season

There will be an NBA season! That’s right; it’s back, which most importantly means I don’t have to go outside until June now. The two sides finally agreed on a new CBA, and now all that has to be done is ratification. So with that in mind, I know feel safe talking about what we would have missed without the NBA season. We’ll take a look at how empty our lives would have been without the Atlantic and Pacific divisions.

Atlantic Division

-Boston Celtics: We would have missed a season of the original Big Three: Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce; and what could be the last season they are all together. Garnett and Allen are both unrestricted free agents after this year, and may not resign with Boston. Even if they do resign this is the last true chance the Celtics have at a title with this foundation.

-New Jersey Nets: We would have missed Deron Williams’ last season in New Jersey, because there is a very slim chance he is coming back when he becomes a free agent, unless Mikhail Prokhorov threatens his life. We also would have missed how Kris Humphries is dealing with his sad divorce from Kim Kardashian after their long marriage. It’s hard to believe in true love if these two can’t make it.

-New York Knicks: We would have missed the Knicks playing defense…oh wait, never mind, they won’t do that even with a season.

-Philadelphia 76ers: We would have missed the spelling of “Jrue” Holiday and also how Sixer fans rely on Andre Iguodala to carry their team deep into the playoffs when he isn’t that type of player.

-Toronto Raptors: Honestly, the Raptors would have been better off missing the season and just hoping that people forget they are so bad.

Pacific Division
Golden State Warriors: We would have missed the first season of Mark Jackson as the new Warriors coach, and how he could shape this offensive minded team. Also how many shots Monta Ellis could take from Stephen Curry.

Los Angeles Lakers: We would have missed this entire season of speculation on whether or not the Lakers will get Dwight Howard or Chris Paul. And also the annoying Kobe fans claiming he is the greatest thing since the NBA lockout ended. Also we would’ve missed Kobe scowling at his teammates and new coach Mike Brown

Los Angeles Clippers: We would have missed another season of Blake Griffin in his prime, which would honestly be horrible. We would have only gotten 82 games of Griffin in 3 seasons. Now we’ll get to see this young, exciting team, centered on Griffin and Eric Gordon.

Phoenix Suns: We would have missed one of the last seasons of the great Steve Nash…Nash giving his all, while Vince Carter slacks off.

Sacramento Kings: We would have missed DeMarcus Cousins getting kicked out of games and Jimmer in the NBA!

Who knows what this shortened season will hold. With 66 games cramped into three months it could get ugly. But honestly who cares, there’s basketball.
