The wait is over! The players and owners reach a tentative agreement to end the NBA lockout. The ideal would to begin a 66-game regular season on Christmas Day with a triple-header.

The Eagles looked to have soared out of playoff contention with an ugly loss to the New England Patriots, 38 – 20. Philadelphia had a 10 – 0 lead, but that quickly diminished due in part to Tom Brady’s 3 TD passes.

Tenacious Tebow. He just wins. Another exciting late game victory for Tim Tebow and the Denver defense, as they improve to 6 – 5. The 16 – 13 win over the Chargers marks the 5th straight win for the Broncos, who are now eying a playoff berth.

After another wild weekend in college football, LSU and Alabama find themselves atop the BCS rankings for the 2nd straight week. The Tigers pummeled #3 Arkansas, while the Crimson Tide held off #24 Auburn.

The #1 seeded team in the AFC’s QB: T.J Yates? The Texans turned to the 3rd string, former Tar Heel standout to hold off the Jaguars, 20 – 13, after Matt Leinart suffered a shoulder injury. Houston got Andre Johnson back, but will that be enough to contend? Answer: FAVRE

Arguably the best matchup record wise over the weekend was the emerging Bears at the Raiders. Chicago’s loss of Jay Cutler paid dividends, as Oakland kicker Sebastian Janikowski toed 6 field goals to notch a 25 – 20 win.

No Jet-lag. Last week’s Tebow heroics didn’t haunt the Jets this week. The Bills couldn’t hold off a late game TD pass by Mark Sanchez to Santonio Holmes, as New York stays alive in the AFC Wildcard picture in a 28 – 24 comeback win.

I hate to bring this up, but we’ll be Fine right? A sad way to return from Thanksgiving break, Syracuse Assistant Basketball Coach Bernie Fine was fired due to allegations over sexual abuse. On a positive note, the Orange beat Stanford 69 – 63 Friday night to win the NIT Pre-season title.

The Red Wings skated into the TD garden to halt an impressive run. Detroit ended the Boston Bruins’ 10 game winning streak with a 3 – 2 win in a shootout. Todd Bertuzzi’s goal on Tuukka Rask sealed the win for the Wings.
