The World Golf Championships-HSBC kicked of Wednesday, and they continue at Sheshan International Golf Course in Shanghai, China. USA’s Keegan Bradley has a one shot lead for 1st place with a score of 10 under and looks to keep his lead through the weekend.

A battle for Southeast supremacy takes place Friday night. The 8 – 2 Washington Capitals travel to North Carolina to face the Canes. Alex Ovechkin leads the Caps with 5 goals. The Hurricanes trail the Caps by 3 points in the division standings and look to tighten the division race.

And the frenzy begins. Albert Pujols and Prince Fielder are the two sexy names of the pool of team-less players heading into MLB Free Agency. Could a deal get done as soon as this weekend to keep the Machine in St. Louis? Will Prince be crowned king somewhere else? Only time will tell.

That’s right! Horse racing is in the mix this weekend. Considered the biggest thoroughbred horse race in the United States, the Breeder’s Cup Classic takes place Saturday night in Louisville, Kentucky. A horse to watch is Uncle Mo.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series flips to Texas this weekend. Carl Edwards is the leader with 2, 273 points, 8 in front of Martinsville winner Tony Stewart. Edwards this season has been in the Top 5 16 times, which leads all racers.

Oh yeah…there are some other games. With most of the college football world focusing their attention on LSU and Alabama, a matchup between #14 Kansas State and #3 Oklahoma State goes unnoticed. The unbeaten Cowboys have a chance to climb into the Top 2 and potentially can play for the BCS title. With a win Saturday, it would mark the 2nd time Oklahoma has been 9 – 0, the last in 1945 capping off an unbeaten season with a win in the Sugar Bowl.

The game of the century? #1 LSU and #2 Alabama face off Saturday night. The winner of this highly anticipated game most likely ensures who will be playing in the BCS Championship Game. The Tigers and Crimson Tide clash has been hyped for almost 2 months, and here we are. So throw away all the stats and playbooks. We are on the brink of a classic.

Same class as Tom Brady? Eli Manning’s remarks in the preseason about being an elite QB are tested Sunday, as he and the Giants head to New England to take on the Patriots. A pair of 5-2 teams collides and the Other Manning can prove his case. It won’t be easy since the Patriots don’t lose at home: 20 straight wins.

Can you hear footsteps? The Ravens are stepping into Pittsburgh, as the Ravens-Steelers rivalry writes yet another chapter. The Steelers have won 7 straight home games and remember the steam-roll win the Ravens had over them in the opening week of the season. A very tight 3 team-race in the NFC North makes this game a must-see, never mind the rivalry.
